The main cleaning machine stays mounted in my service vehicle while professional solution and vacuum hoses run into your home. The system provides the heat, water pressure, and powerful vacuum extraction needed to thoroughly clean and rinse your carpet. Rather than simply shampooing the surface, the cleaning process is designed to loosen soil and residue from the carpet fibers, rinse the carpet with hot water, and extract the dirty cleaning water through the vacuum hose and back to the truck. This combination of professional pre-treatment, hot water, rinsing, and powerful extraction provides a deep, thorough carpet cleaning while removing as much loosened soil, cleaning solution, and moisture as reasonably possible. HOW I CLEAN YOUR CARPET Every home and every carpet is different, but my normal carpet cleaning process includes: -Evaluate the Carpet Before cleaning, I inspect the overall condition of the carpet, including heavily traveled areas, spots, stains, pet concerns, and anything else that may require additional attention. This is also a good time for you to point out any areas you're particularly concerned about. -Professional Pre-Treatment I apply a professional-grade preconditioning solution to the carpet being cleaned. This helps loosen oils, soil, and other contamination attached to the carpet fibers. -Additional Attention Where Needed Heavily soiled traffic areas and individual spots may require additional treatment depending on the type of soil or stain and how the carpet responds. -Truck-Mounted Hot-Water Extraction Using my truck-mounted system and professional cleaning wand, I rinse the carpet with hot water while powerful vacuum extraction removes the water, loosened soil, and cleaning solution. -Final Inspection Whenever possible, I like my customers to look over the carpet before I pack up my equipment. Only the hoses and professional cleaning tools need to come inside. WHAT CAN PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANING REMOVE? Over time, carpet collects much more than the dirt you can see on the surface. DIRTY CARPET AND WORN CARPET ARE NOT THE SAME THING One thing I've learned after more than 15 years of cleaning carpets is that dirty carpet and worn carpet are not the same thing. Dark traffic lanes can contain significant amounts of embedded soil, and professional cleaning can sometimes produce a dramatic improvement. However, carpet fibers also physically wear over time. Repeated foot traffic can scratch, crush, and distort the fibers. Worn fibers can reflect light differently from surrounding carpet, causing an area to continue looking different even after the soil has been removed. Cleaning removes soil. It cannot reverse physical wear. I believe in being straightforward about this rather than promising every carpet will look brand new after cleaning. WHAT ABOUT SPOTS AND STAINS? Many carpet spots and stains respond extremely well to professional cleaning. Experience allows me to make an educated assessment of what will probably come out, but no carpet cleaner can know with absolute certainty how every stain will respond until it is treated and cleaned. Some substances simply soil the carpet and can be removed. Others can permanently alter the carpet fiber or its color. Bleach, dyes, certain medications, chemicals, sun fading, and other types of damage can create permanent discoloration that cleaning cannot reverse. Sometimes a stain that looks terrible comes out beautifully. Other times, something that doesn't look particularly severe has permanently changed the carpet. I'll always do my best to improve or remove problem areas while giving you realistic expectations about what professional carpet cleaning can accomplish. PET STAIN AND PET ODOR TREATMENT If you have pet urine or odor concerns, please tell me before I begin cleaning. Normal deep cleaning may improve some pet-related odors, but significant urine contamination often requires products and treatment specifically designed for pet problems. Fresno Carpet Care offers professional topical pet treatments when appropriate. The results depend heavily on where the contamination is located. An accident affecting primarily the carpet fibers is very different from repeated urine contamination that has penetrated through the carpet into the backing, padding, or subfloor. For that reason, standard carpet cleaning should not automatically be expected to eliminate every pet odor. I prefer to identify known problem areas beforehand so I can recommend the appropriate treatment and give you realistic expectations. CAN OLD SPOTS COME BACK AFTER CARPET CLEANING? Occasionally, yes. A spot can sometimes disappear during cleaning and become visible again as the carpet dries. This is commonly called wicking. A previous spill may have traveled below the visible carpet fibers and into the carpet backing. During the drying process, some of that remaining material can migrate toward the surface. A spot reappearing does not necessarily mean the carpet wasn't thoroughly cleaned. If you notice an area after the carpet has completely dried that concerns you, please contact me. HOW LONG DOES CARPET TAKE TO DRY? Your carpet will normally be damp to the touch when I finish. My truck-mounted system provides powerful vacuum extraction to remove a large portion of the moisture used during cleaning. Actual drying time varies depending on the carpet, indoor temperature, humidity, weather conditions, and airflow. Most carpets progressively dry throughout the day. Running ceiling fans or portable fans can help considerably. During warm Central Valley weather, air conditioning can help circulate the air and remove indoor humidity. When outdoor conditions are pleasant and dry, opening windows can also provide excellent airflow. During cooler weather, your home's heater combined with good air circulation can also help carpets dry effectively. Professional carpet cleaning is a year-round service in Fresno and Clovis. DO I NEED TO MOVE MY FURNITURE? No. You don't need to completely empty your rooms before having your carpets professionally cleaned. I can clean the accessible carpet and open areas around your existing furniture. Because I personally perform the work and normally work by myself, I generally do not move large or heavy furniture. If there are areas underneath furniture that you specifically want cleaned, it's best to have those items moved before I arrive. I'm happy to help with an occasional small or lightweight item when practical, but large couches, beds, dressers, entertainment centers, heavy tables, and similar furniture should generally remain in place or be moved beforehand. SHOULD I VACUUM BEFORE CARPET CLEANING? Vacuuming beforehand is recommended, but it isn't required. I do not routinely pre-vacuum as part of my carpet-cleaning service. Vacuuming before your appointment is beneficial because your household vacuum is specifically designed to remove loose dry soil, hair, and debris. Professional hot-water extraction can then concentrate on soil, oils, spots, and residue attached to the carpet fibers. If you have the opportunity to vacuum before I arrive, I recommend doing so.
